Israel attacks Mavi Marmara, why you should care.

With Israel opting out of the Non-Proliferation Treaty in regards to secure their place as a nuclear power, you should also be aware of the United States stance to allow their behavior and now the lack of action in part to the recent killing of 13 Palestinians in the attack on Mavi Marmara.

The country has long defended it’s need for nuclear weapons as being its placement on the continent, surrounded by Iran and Iraq, which have made no argument in it’s desire to see them eradicated from the planet.  It is pretty easy to see how a nuclear weapon would make one hell of a deterrent, considering one warhead with little effort could cause the collapse of either countries’ infrastructure and population.  This is the modern age where intelligence takes a backseat to having the nukes.

The Mavi Marmara was not a military vessel.  It was actually a flotilla providing aid supplies to Palestine, with an addition of several protestors.  Two of the individuals killed was an infant and a holocaust survivor.  They had light arms (knifes and shanks) and were in international waters.  It is illegal to forcefully board a vessel in international waters.  The aid ships were not boarded by rogue soldiers.  They were cleared for boarding by the Israeli government and were commandos.

The questions in this situation would be:

If all countries involved are relinquishing their nuclear weapons, why does Israel still need them?

If Israel is going to play the role of helpless victim, then why are they instigating international incidents by illegally boarding aid-delivering flotillas in the middle of international waters?

United States taking sides with “allies” in notably bad ideas and actions leads the rest of the world with emphasis on United Nations to call “bullshit” when we actually have a legitimate stance.  This is also playing out in the current tensions between North and South Korea, with China holding on joining the growing United Nation’s stance on delivering justice to North Korea by militaristic means.

Why should you care?  Because if we do not change our course of action, this will be noted as the unraveling of a world superpower.

I will speak loudly now…

In a very short time we are going to engage in a conflict with North Korea.  So, I shall speak now before you cannot hear me over the propaganda and rattling of sabers.  As Americans, we tend to look upon a communist country as an evil empire where all citizens of that nation are in like-minded thought.

That is the problem with dictatorship.  Not everyone gets a say-so in matters and more often than not the punishment for speaking one’s mind is death.  There are no juries and no judge of rational thought.  There is a firing squad and what is determined as quick “humane” death.  You might also be stoned to death.

In actuality, most of these nation’s are poor.  Their citizens are poor and without sufficient meals, education or healthcare.   Many of the citizens have absolutely no concept of an outside world.  They do not possess resources such and unfiltered Internet or a Bill of Rights.  They have the breath in their lungs and the hope for a meal.  Temperature of the meal is not of importance.  The weight of their coat is.

This is who we will actually wage war with.  It will not be the dictator.  His stomach will remain filled to the brim.  The poor and indigent will serve as his dutiful guards.  They will protect his life because it is all they know.  For many, the last thought the will possess will be the shear hell of a “daisy cutter” that finds a errant path to the wrong destination.

Their dictator will likely place them among the evil elements of his nation to win a war of propaganda and to further fuel generations of hatred.  This will be our act of humanity.

So, as we back our current allie, South Korea in their trade halts with North Korea, we will not be taking the food from the mouth of the criminal, but instead from the stomachs of children and the homeless.  These will be the same age as those we send our money to the Christian missions to clothe and feed.  The difference is that we will likely change nothing for the good.

As history will show, the innocent will die, the evil will continue and we will prepare a harvest of decades of blind hatred in order to spread our brand of freedom.  This is the future we prepare.

So as you raise your glass to those that proudly serve our country, remember that they will not die in honor, but instead be murdered in a lost cause.  There are better ways and we must find them.  That is our job as Americans and a superpower.

That is the responsibility we are bestowed.

The Religious Experience

To find yourself pretending to a martyr. You feel you have something to stand for. Being the modern day crucify seems better when you feel you are standing for something noble. Life is a tricky deal that way.

The outcome is the same in martyrdom. You die (literally or theoretically) and the rest of the world moves on. Of course, a few radicals might remember you and boast of your stance. The end rarely justifies the means though. That’s just the way it is.

That leads me to where I am now. Nowhere. Nothing has changed really.

Yesterday morning, I found myself trying to inspire my wife and myself to go find another church. This proved more difficult than one might think. Recently, feeling pushed out of a ministry position due to a conflict of private opinion, you are left somewhat jaded. You ask yourself all the ridiculous questions about the why, when and what. You also get nowhere. You might be wrong, or maybe you were right.

You hear of statements about preventing a brother from stumbling and that is the supposed reason for your being outed. Then you realize something. You were caused to stumble. You are welcome to stand and wish you were righteous enough to serve the best way you know how. You also realize you will likely always fall short in this company of individuals.

“I guess I am who I am so others can be righteous” is thought that runs in your mind all the time. How do you fall short in the company of God? God was the most accepting of our flaws. He died for them after all.

Which leads me to where I am now. How does an individual go to another church that claims to have open arms with blood still on your clothes from the last church? The source of the blood is inconsequential. It is still there. That takes some time to get around.

So, this is why I am highly spiritual, but not religious any longer. God has never failed me, but man has. Time and time again. This is a time honored fact and very unfortunate.
